General Qualifications/Skills:
- B.S./B.A required or a Master’s degree preferred;
- Ability to perform successfully as a member of multiple project-related teams;
- Demonstrated successful interpersonal skills;
- Fluency in both English and Urdu required; other Pakistani languages preferred;
- Willingness to travel to all provinces of Pakistan as per the demand and requirement;
- Work experience in the private sector and in a development project environment is preferred, with work experience in the former being more preferable;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills mainly in English;
- Must be able to establish good relationships with the stakeholders;
- Must have supervisory skills
- Analytical and problem solving skills;
- Strong computer skills including the ability to create spreadsheets and operate MS Project and MS Office , web browser and email proficiently;
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work with stakeholders/ partners with different cultural backgrounds;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- 0-2 years of work experience similar to this one preferred
Position Objective:
- Support and assist the position’s supervisor and fellow project colleagues in the successful implementation of all aspects of the project’s work plan and achievement of the project objective.
- Generally Applicable Functions:
- Perform tasks necessary to ensure successful implementation of the project’s work plan and components thereof;
- Ensure weekly updates of relevant portions of the project’s work plan and components thereof;
- Ensure timely, high quality completion of all relevant reporting requirements;
- Ensure that day-to-day personal behavior and performance are fully compliant with the project’s policy manual;
- Exercise professional interpersonal skills to effectively work with all project staff, clients, counterparts;
- Ensure close collaboration and teamwork with all project offices and components;
- Conduct all business in a manner that respects local culture;
- Maintain high ethical standards at all times, avoiding any actual or perceived conflicts of interest;
- Abide by all local laws, USAID regulations, and US Embassy/USAID project directives; and
- Perform any and all other tasks as may be assigned in a manner that contributes to achievement of the project’s work plan and objectives
- Provide word-processing, spread sheeting, filing and other administrative and ICT services to prepare communications, reports, charts, tables, and other documents in English and Urdu;
- Assist the Component Leader in updating (no less frequently than weekly) the Component’s electronic work plan actions and budgets, and in reviewing and archiving in a compliant manner all documents related to work plan actions including, but not limited to, position descriptions, scopes of work, background readings, deliverables, and other documents;
- Ensure that hotel reservations, country clearance requests, and information packages are completed;
- Schedule meetings and facilitate interaction between Component long-term and short-term personnel and Component counterparts and beneficiaries;
- Ensure project policy-compliant closeout of all Component short-term assignments;
- Ensure project policy-compliant hard copy and electronic filings in Central Files of relevant documentation;
- Electronically update the Component Leader’s schedule periodically throughout each day;
- Serve from time to time as a facilitator for Component events;
- Process and distribute Component-related mail received via pouch;
- Assist other associates as may be required from time to time to ensure optimal project performance;
- Supervise the work of other associates when requested from time to time; and
- Perform all other relevant duties that may be assigned by the Component Leader or the Chief of Party or his/her designee.
