- To contribute towards creating a self-sustaining and self-managing community and access to quality health services with a special focus on children.
- To build capacity of the community members and bring positive change in their perception, attitude and practices towards healthy families especially the children.
- To sensitize on ownership among the community to improve their health through developing strong linkages with government line departments and humanitarian organizations and mobilizing locally available resources.
Major responsibilities
- Carryout need assessment and base line survey in the project areas.
- Formation/reactivation of community groups and HMC for better management of skills, resources and opportunities.
- Conduction of sensitization dialogues with Community Groups and organizing them into a formal shape. Identification of activists and involving them into project activities for the better health of the children.
- Conduction of PRA tools for identification of target groups, involvement in planning through health specific general tools and participatory monitoring.
- Facilitation to resolve local level issues.
- Write reports according to the project and donor requirements
- Produce success stories/case studies and share with communication section through concerned supervisor
- Orient the concerned beneficiaries on project goal, objectives and target
- Cooperate with other team members and assist them in undertaking certain project activities.
- Maintain updated record of concerned activities.
- Maintain close coordination with Health Posts/BHU staff.
- Contribute in short/long term plans, conducting need assessments and developing concept notes.
- Submit monthly, weekly and daily work plan to the concern supervisor on regular basis.
- Facilitate HMCs/ members in developing Community Development/Improvement Plan (DIPs/SIP), its endorsement by the community and proper execution.
- M.A in social sciences from recognized university.
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant work experience
- Diverse work experience with National/International well reputed organizations is desirable.
- Strong communication, coordination and negotiation skills
- Capable to communicate verbally and written in English, Urdu and Sindhi language
- Good report writing skills
- Able to design training material/manuals and conduct trainings to the diverse stakeholders
- Proficient in MS Office (MS Word, Power Point and Excel)
- Informed of CRC and INEE Minimum Standards in emergencies and chronic crises
- Coordination and team building sills
- Demonstrates strong conflict resolution skills and bale to perform up the mark in a diverse cultural and challenging context
