District Coordinator

(to be based in Killa Saifullah, Baluchistan)

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of District Coordinator for the “Strengthening Teachers’ Education in Pakistan” (STEP) project based in Killa Saifullah, Baluchistan.

Responsibilities

​The successful candidate will:

• supervise and support district based activities, which will entail extensive traveling within the district(s) related to STEP Project
• provide support to supervisor in planning and implementing academic and social activities for assigned project
• coordinate with AKU-IED, District Education Officer and District Head Teachers for successful implementation of project activities
• provide academic support to the project team and  supervise activities at Tehsil Council and Whole School Improvement Programme
• monitor and supervise the field based activities through the Performance Measurement Frame work 
• lead  the formation and strengthening of local groups within communities
• present monthly, quarterly and annual reports on different platforms forums, such as AKU-IED, Oversight Committee of STEP Project and others
• prepare training manuals and implement various training programmes for assigned staff, and
• supervise and support administrative staff in carrying out their assigned duties.

Requirements

​Applicants must possess:

• a Master’s degree, preferably MEd with specialization in Teacher Education, Educational Leadership & Management or Education Planning & Management.
• minimum two years of academic experience, preferably in teacher education, school improvement and  improvement of primary education programmes/activities
• strong communication skills in English and Urdu (both oral and written); ability to understand regional languages will be an added advantage
• capability to manage multiple tasks under pressure, meet stringent deadlines and work well in teams
• proficiency in MS Office
• willingness to travel domestically for project related assignments.
