Female Medical Officer

Based in Shangla

Contract Period: July –December 2013

Main Responsibilities / Duties

• Perform OPD in BHU (Antenatal, Postnatal, RH care to the female patients) following standard treatment protocols: Perform Deliveries, D&C,E&C and other Minor Proce-dure, Perform Gynae, Obs Ultrasounds in case of availability of USG machine.
• Insure availability of MNCH drugs and medical materials for one week at least, with recording of utilization in patient protocol. Check and monitor proper/ rational usage of drugs.
• Aware of importance of mental health, knowledge about the basic tools, capable to differentiate somatic problems from PTSD and Psychiatric cases.
• Focus on vulnerable cases in population of women in reproductive care and children (especially infants and under-five years old), mainly detection of pathological preg-nancies, risky pregnancies and potentially complicated deliveries and organize and assist for referral.
• Act as a supervisor and support to LHVs.
• Perform ANC and PNC examinations and perform deliveries when required
• Responsible for daily registration of patients and other visitors, provide basic informa-tion on weekly base (DEWS), indicating activities, problems, recommendations for the coming week, in the scope of his/her project ToRs.
• Supervise the activities of the LHVs on daily base and guide them in treatment and examination of pregnant and lactating women.

Core qualifications:

• MBBS or MD from Recognized Medical Institute,
• PM&DC Registered
• should have house job in Gynae/Obstetrics(Obs)
• At least 1year of working experience in Gynae/ Obs
• Knowledge of Local Language
• Willing to work in INGO; willing to travel to remote health facilities
