Position:               Project Manager                 

No. of positions:     01

Major Responsibilities:

  • Management and supervision of the project, responsible for successful planning, coordination and implementation of project activities, including overall responsibility of implementation – activities include market assessments for the potential of identified income generation activities, group formation, training in basic financial literacy, small grants management, group savings and loan schemes.
  • Responsible for fund management – including making the best of use of available resources and to work for mobilising additional resources (fundraising) in support of planned and on-going work.
  • Responsible for coordination with all actors involved in the implementation of the project – ensuring that e.g. project activities are well-coordinated with local partners and authorities, national and international NGOs etc.
  • Ensure that contact with beneficiaries, target groups and representatives of authorities are conducted in a sensitive and respectful manner and in accordance with Humanitarian Accountability Partnership principles.
  • Provide facilitation in assessments, data collection, baselines, KAP etc;
  • Facilitate in the development of curriculum for training materials and facilitate training and workshop seminars as needed.
  • Regularly report on all activities, weekly, bi-monthly & monthly with progress, achievements, bottlenecks to document challenges and lesson learned.
  • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders’ on an ongoing basis.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  • Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Identify training needs of staff and facilitate capacity building program to strengthen knowledge and understanding of field staff.
  • Conduct interviews for available positions at local level.
  • Coordinate and liaison with COs, VOs and LSOs to ensure quality implementation and output in relation to agreed objectives.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the Program, Finance/Admin and Logistics to ensure that program supplies and resources are available in a timely fashion to support program implementation. 
  • Performance appraisal and objective setting of staff
  • Responsible for main streaming gender and ensuring compliance with HAP benchmarks in project implementation. 
Skills Required:

  • Masters in Social Sciences
  • More than 5 years Experience with NGOs OR INGOs in on managerial positions is required.
  • Experience of managing/supervising and training staff, individually or groups.
  • Excellent computer, writing and communication skills, including proven report writing skills.
  • Experience with basic budget management procedures.
  • Experience planning/collaborating with government officials, CSOs and other stakeholders.
  • Candidates with work experience in Sindh in field of health and livelihoods will be given preference.
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Good management skills with emphasis on motivating team and building capacity of team members
  • Must be able to work independently while being a strong team player with proven supervisory skills.

Position:               Enterprise Liaison Officer            

No. of positions:     01 (based in Karachi with frequent travel to Thatta)

Major Responsibilities:
  • Develop linkages of WEGs with Karachi market
  • Explore, facilitate and mature orders for Women Enterprise Groups (WEGs)
  • Provide direct assistance to WEGs by working with them to identify and design high market demand products.
  • Monitoring and analyzing market trends
  • Exploring ways of improving existing products and services, and increasing profitability
  • Presenting findings and suggestions to project manager
  • Participate in project related meetings/trainings/workshops etc.
  • Submit scheduled and/or need based daily, weekly monthly activity reports.

Skills Required:
  • At least 3-4 years’ practical experience in business and enterprise development or small- to medium-scale enterprises
  • Have knowledge of a wide range of marketing techniques and concepts
  • Familiar with Karachi Market and has linkages with designers/outlets, market traders etc
  • Be an excellent communicator

Position:            Monitoring, Evaluation and Accountability Learning Officer (MEAL) 

No of position:     01

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of a monitoring & evaluation system for the project and indicators for input and output monitoring in line of project objectives.
  • To contribute and provide support in developing and scaling Accountability to beneficiaries mechanisms in developmental programs and undertake staff capacity building on accountability system.
  • Guide the process for identifying the key performance questions and parameters capitalizing on the existing checklists and minimum standards for monitoring project performance.
  • To contribute in developing assessments/researches and analyzing the data for designing of effective interventions, identifying new areas of intervention or expanding scope of existing interventions.
  • Support in the planning and implementation of baseline surveys, monitoring and evaluation exercises for programs/projects and impact assessments and act as a primary drafter for the final assessments/evaluation reports when needed.
  • To represent organization in coordination meeting and exchange lesson learnt.
  • When needed assist the project staff on the logical framework, data management, data analysis, basic surveying and sampling techniques, monitoring and evaluation methods and report writing techniques.
  • Prepare monitoring reports, analyze them for potential bottlenecks in project implementation and follow up on the action plans agreed in order to reduce those bottlenecks.
  • To receive, review, maintain and follow up complaints and feedback from communities and make sure that community is aware about the use of complaint box.
  • Prepare and maintain databases for the project
  • Document and be the primary drafter of the learning documents including lessons learnt and key learning for internal and external dissemination.
  • Undertake visits to the field as required to support implementation of M&E and to identify where adaptation might be needed.
  • Ensure that all the projects’ activities given in projects’ plans are taking place effectively and efficiently, if activities being implemented are not according to the given plan, then communicate to project manager.
  • Responsible for the evaluation of different projects and activities and coordinate with the team on any further changes or new initiatives
  • Be involved in the field assessments/surveys and field visits of all projects for the purpose of monitoring
  • Develop, review, and revise log frames and performance monitoring frameworks (PMFs) for project/program proposals in coordination with technical managers
  • Be responsible for formation of TORs for any external evaluations  
  • Ensure that accountability to beneficiaries becomes a core element and success indicator for all program activities
  • Provide practical leadership on certain accountability activities, including the management and expansion of a complaints and response mechanism in areas of interventions
  • Manage the complaints and response mechanism in the areas of intervention and make sure that complaints are logged and addressed in a professional and timely manner
  • As a result of complaints received and addressed, provide regular feedback to the SHA team  to improve program interventions
  • Work with all staff in the organization to increase awareness on accountability through training, coaching, informal support and in other ways as identified
  • Contribute towards design, development and management of monitoring, assessment and learning tools and methods
  • Participate in project planning and development process to share programmatic learning from completed and ongoing projects
  • Participate in meetings at field offices and country office level to present key learning based on monitoring, evaluation and accountability to beneficiaries system
  • Ensure that assessment results, beneficiary feedback, and lessons learned are disseminated
  • Will be responsible for timely submission of all project reports according to donor/CO needs
  • Will ensure timely submission of monthly and quarterly reports to CO.
Skills Required:

  • Master Degree preferably in Social Work, Sociology, Anthropology, Rural Development. 4-5 years experience in field of monitoring and evaluation in NGO/INGO
  • Strong skills in communication, negotiation, mediation and coordination both oral and written.
  • Knowledge of the local culture, good communication skills in local language as well as in English.
  • Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment.
  • Ability to maintain performance expectations in diverse cultural contexts and capacity to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of proposal development and excellent command on MS excel

Position:               Adult Literacy Teacher (Female)

  • Creating a climate that encourages and supports learning
  • Developing a report with members of the class, to meet the needs of each and deliver a structured and fulfilling learning experience.
  • Foster critically reflective thinking, engaging learners in non-curriculum learning activities
  • Assessing and recording Learner’s attendance, progress, through coursework and examinations.

Position:               Vocational Instructor (Female)

Major Responsibilities:

  • Mobilize and select trainees based on the criteria
  • Identify community needs regarding vocational skills
  • Preparing list of the required items for imparting vocational courses
  • Keep record of the material used for vocational classes
  • Identify repair and maintenance required for machinery used and timely report to Enterprise Liaison Officer
  • Maintain daily attendance of trainees
  • Facilitate in marketing of the products
  • Identify high market demand products and produce such products
  • Help trainees in attractive packaging of the products
  • Explore option for trainees to expand their businesses
  • Mobilize trainees for income generation after learning the skills
  • Provide required guidance and support to the trainees
  • Participate in project related meetings/trainings/workshops etc.

 Skills Required:

  • For the post of Tailoring Instructor, Intermediated Certificate Education and diploma in related Courses with a minimum of 3 year experience is considered necessary

Position:              Social Mobilizer                  

No. of positions:     04 (02 Males & 02 Females)

Major Responsibilities:

  • Introduce organization’s project, motivate community and establish male/female Community Organizations, Village Organizations and Local Support Organizations local level.
  • Arrange and conduct trainings for COs and VOs related to organizational management.
  • Develop profile of the villages/area; assist local community in addressing advocacy and development issues.
  • Coordinate and participate in the village development plan, arrange field visits for staff and outsiders and extend facilitation services to other programs in the area.
  • Keep close contacts to local community; identify their immediate socio economic needs by holding discussions and participatory activities with different groups of community.
  • Participates in need assessments, baseline, Participatory Rural Appraisals, feasibility studies and stakeholder analyses.
  • Mobilizes the community for effective use of the community resources.
  • Responsible for main streaming gender and ensuring HAP benchmarks
  • Assist the community to identify and develop appropriate responses to these issues.
  • Identify focal persons/volunteers from the community in the operational area for the coordinated and smooth service delivery.
  • Participate in project related meetings/trainings/workshops etc.

Skills Required:

  • Graduation or Masters in Social Sciences
  • 2 to 4 years Experience with NGOs OR INGOs in Relief and Development. Candidates with experience in health related projects will be given priority.
  • Significant proven experience in social mobilization, sensitization, and organization

 Position:              Community Development Officer             

No. of positions:     01

Major Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Broad Based Community Meetings (BBCM) at the village level and map out community resources with community organizations and village organizations.
  • Assist communities in the formation of village development plan.  
  • Conduct capacity building activities and the use of various tools that will support assessment, plan and proposal development, project monitoring and fund management within communities.
  • Facilitate the conduct of monitoring and evaluation of project activities in coordination with M & E unit, and other related activities/visits.
  • Document and submit reports as required in a timely manner to concerned bodies.
  • Provide support and facilitation for the timely implementation of project activities
  • Design practical, effective programs and activities that uplifts livelihood of most vulnerable and marginalized women and women headed household.
  • Initiate innovative income generating activities including skill development to help alleviate poverty among targeted women.
  • Supervise skill development center, activities including  vocational training ,external training, capacity building and market linkages
  • Playing lead role in establishing or strengthen village committees as part of the community self-management (CSM) strategy.  
  • Assist in the development of project proposal, concept notes & sector publications
  • Provide regular feedback/updates on livelihood activities citing strengths and weakness in overall camp strategy and how this can be improved.
  • Prepare and submit activity progress reports including bi- monthly report, monthly, quarterly reports among others
  • Directly supervising community mobilizer as per their job descriptions to ensure effective, efficient and timely implementation of activities

Skills Required:
  •  Master Degree preferably in Social Work, Sociology, Anthropology, Rural Development
