Strategic Planning

• Develop a media strategy (Print, electronic and social media) for Save the Children International in Pakistan.
• Develop a Media Dissemination Plan for Save the Children activities.
• Development and roll-out of Mass-Media campaigns for Save the Children projects.
• Providing technical inputs on production of Public Service Messages, Radio spots and documentaries.

Media Networks

• Writing and issuing time to time press releases for media.
• Ensuring positive media profiling of Save the Children work and results for children.
• Organizing Media Visits to program sites across Pakistan.
• Writing blogs/ articles for media on key advocacy issues, events and international days.
• Ensuring that the findings of the publications of Save the Children are highlighted in print and electronic media as and when desired by the program teams.

Capacity building

• Providing trainings and support to SCI staff and partners on developing media related materials e.g. press releases
• Mapping of potential media personnel
• Development of a media support group and their capacity building

Social Media:

• Regular updates on social media portals including such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube.
• Increasing audience growth on social media portals

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Postgraduate Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication or related subject with 05 years experience in the relevant field.
• Excellent communication skills; written and oral
• Able to write a high quality press release, human stories
• Experience in dealing with media and effective liaison experience with external organizations
• Capable of taking initiatives and ability to work with minimal supervision and according to demanding time frames
• Commitment to work with and for children; ability to work effectively with young children and proactively involve children in media and communications initiatives i.e. children’s press conferences
• Proactive, persuasive, and ability to work under stress
• Good understanding of development issues
• A high level of creative ability including competence in creative computer applications
• Proficient in Ms Excel , MS Word, Outlook, creative applications
• Willingness to travel extensively
• Commitment to Save the Children vision, mission and values
• Strong analytical skills
